sieger design has developed two sun protection collections for Hunter Douglas that make aesthetic statements with stand-out designs

The Netherlands-based Hunter Douglas Group wanted a collection with extraordinary designs for the DUETTE® honeycomb blinds. The company is the world’s leading manufacturer of components for effective light, privacy and sun protection. With Elements by sieger design and Heroes by SIEGER, two very different collections with high recognition value were created in 2022.

Within the development process of the two DUETTE® collections, the decision was made in favour of the four designs that stood out the most. “They stand for pure joie de vivre, which greets us afresh every morning,” says Christian Sieger. The poetic collection Elements by sieger design, which celebrates the beauty of nature with four symbolic designs, is based on the natural phenomena of earth, water, air and fire. Geometric shapes and patterns in bold colours represent earth and fire, while natural motifs in a soft colour palette stand for the elements of water and air. The four designs are configured for each individual window and then made to measure. When the sun’s rays hit the printed DUETTE® honeycomb blinds, the colours appear even more beautiful and intense.

At the presentation of Elements, Heroes by SIEGER was introduced as an additional collection on the agency’s own initiative. It is inspired by the superheroes on The Sparkling 4 & Friends champagne tumblers from the premium brand SIEGER by FÜRSTENBERG. The Heroes collection is characterised by 2D comic-book character designs in strong, contrasting colours with geometric stars or floral details in the background.

Marvellous Monkey is now fighting for courageous and cosmopolitan togetherness with his three hero friends Rumble Rex, Glamour Girl and Star Man on the flexible DUETTE® honeycomb blinds, too. As with the porcelain tumblers, part of the sales price goes towards supporting the work of the non-profit organisation NDC (Network for Democracy and Courage). In the Germany-wide network, young people put their time and effort into promoting democracy and tolerance.

Hunter Douglas prints the designs of the Elements and Heroes collections on the DUETTE® honeycomb blinds and delivers them to its fabricators, such as MHZ in Leinfelden-Echterdingen. There, the DUETTE® honeycomb blinds and roller blinds are assembled and delivered to the end customer.
