Paraíso Blue on Kurfürstendamm

Exclusive presentation of the new MY CHINA! Paraíso Blue collection from SIEGER by FÜRSTENBERG at the Berlin branch of APROPOS The Concept Store

To celebrate the launch of the new Paraíso Blue decor for the MY CHINA! service, SIEGER by FÜRSTENBERG and APROPOS – Germany's leading concept store in the luxury sector and a long-standing partner of the porcelain brand – hosted an exclusive event in Berlin. The collection was presented for the first time in Germany to around 80 invited guests in May 2024. In this unusual setting, sieger design showcased the collection with a trattoria look and organised an exceptional evening with its partners.

Alongside Christian Sieger, the APROPOS management board – Daniel Riedo, Klaus Ritzenhöfer and Henning Korb – welcomed guests to the 870 sqm flagship store on Kurfürstendamm, one of the best-known luxury retail strips in Europe. The day’s main attraction, however, was the new Paraíso Blue decor, developed by Michael Sieger and his team for the premium brand SIEGER by FÜRSTENBERG. ‘We’ll take you on an excursion around the world’ was the promise on the high-quality invitation, specially personalised by a calligrapher. Adorned with tropical plants and wild animals like leopards, parrots and toucans, the decor brings scenes from faraway lands to the table, telling opulent tales of the beauty of nature.

The dinner service appears in timeless blue-grey, with every piece boasting a hand-applied burnish gold star and two framing lines. “In my eyes, it has the flair of a trattoria that serves simple but surprisingly good fare and has a very personal, intimate atmosphere,” explains Michael. “Our porcelain invites people to enjoy a relaxed meal together. Bringing la dolce vita – or, as we also say, the good life – to your own home.” For the presentation at the concept store, the team picked up this idea and arranged the porcelain on individual tables that were set out to look like a restaurant. Over a tumbler of champagne and other delicacies, the guests discovered the individually designed plates, bowls and accessories in the dinner service piece by piece – and could even rearrange them themselves again and again.

SIEGER by FÜRSTENBERG’s MY CHINA! service, which is handcrafted in Germany, has enjoyed international success for almost 20 years. It combines the quality of handcrafted tableware with universal functionality. Today, it can be found in five-star hotels, restaurants, luxury yachts and many private homes around the world. MY CHINA! has won multiple awards, including a Chicago Athenaeum Good Design Award.

Apropros was also honoured just a few weeks prior to the event. The Berlin location, which only opened in summer 2023, received two significant industry awards: the prestigious TW Forum Preis from trade journal TextilWirtschaft, along with Store of the Year by Handelsverband Deutschland e.V. Alongside Berlin, Apropros also has nine stores in Cologne, Düsseldorf, Hamburg and on Lake Tegernsee.
